Doe is the hand weaver who enjoys the challenge of weaving unique small runs of carefully handwoven cloth. She can dye all the yarns using both natural dyes or synthetic dyes. She will even hand spin the threads for a project from that special fleece or fibres.

 Doe has been spinning and hand weaving for the past twenty years. 

She weaves on a Mecchia dobby loom, and a smaller Jack loom.

Although setting up, warping, threading and eventually weaving the fabric is a time consuming occupation Doe enjoys each part of the craft from the planning stage to the washing, fringe twisting and pressing the cloth. she selects fine quality yarns, many of them hand dyed and handspun. She enjoys working with wool, alpaca, silk, and mohair and other fibres.

Doe Arnot moved to NZ with her husband Bob and children Jack and Clare in 1998 from Devon, England. She has been a handspinner and weaver since the the early 1980's. She especially likes to select her spinning fibres from the animal's back and has been known to assist the shearer in the fleece removal.
